What should I do if I can’t come to class?
If you are not going to class, call or email your professor. If possible, make arrangements with a classmate to hand-in your homework or email to your professor any assignments due. Also, contact one of your classmates to get any assignment you might miss.
How can I contact a professor in between classes or when classes are not held?
If you do not have his/her number, you may e-mail them using the first letter of their first name and their last name@metropolitan.edu (for example: dsosa@metropolitan.edu).
Can I take off any semester off without affecting my TAP and PELL?
The only semester that you can take off without affecting TAP and PELL is the summer semester.
When is the latest date that I can officially withdraw?
The last day of the 10 th week is the last day, see calendar on website for actual date.
Can I switch from the Associate’s degree to Bachelor’s, or visa versa?
You can switch from the Bachelor’s to Associates degree but it must be done before the start of Purpose Three. Also you cannot have any failures or incompletes. You can switch from Associate’s to the Bachelor’s at any time and there are no restrictions.
Do I have to do the FAFSA every semester?
No, you must do the FAFSA during the spring semester, every year, when you do advisement for the summer semester and the FAFSA covers three semesters.
What is advisement?
Advisement is when you meet with a counselor in Student Services and you go over your grades from past semesters and the class schedule for the upcoming semester. The Registration Form is completed for the upcoming semester. This is a time to discuss your academic and career goals and any relevant issues.

Are all college credits transferable?
No, we have to have an articulation with the college and you must have a grade of C or better in order to transfer. The maximum is 64 credits.

I am not happy with my grade from last semester, how do I refute it?
A student can contest the grades by filling out a “grades appeal” form with the Office of the Registrar. The form can be also found in the Student Handbook.
