Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator/Emergency Management Undergraduate Program
MCNY seeks an experienced faculty member and Program Coordinator to launch a new undergraduate degree program in Emergency Management and Business Continuity. The Coordinator will serve as primary contact for students and faculty and will teach courses within the program, monitor trends, provide direction and evaluation of instruction, faculty development and supervision. The Coordinator will need to work within the framework of performance-based Purpose-Centered Education and be able to unite classroom theory with real-world practice. Candidates will be expected to have extensive knowledge of emergency management, business continuity, and educational practice, along with private sector management experience.

Requirements: Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in Emeregency Management or closely related field, from an accredited college (Ph.D preferred); 3 years of academic experience and significant industry experience; hold a valid AEM/CEM certificate issued by IAEM; PMP certification; CBCP and/or MBCI certification; ability to work successfully within a diverse cultural setting; experience in managing similar programs; experience in curriculum development; field research experience in emergency management; grant writing experience; excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills; mastery knowledge of City, State, and Federal agencies including NYCOEM, NYSDHSES, FEMA and proven knowledge of NIMS. Metropolitan College of New York seeks a faculty member for its BPS degree in Human Services. The ideal candidate will have expertise and experience in the areas of community development and leadership, and social policy and advocacy.

Responsibilities: As Coordinator, the faculty member will serve as a liaison to the Office of the Dean at the Manhattan campus. He or she will be responsible for effectively administering and supporting the growth of the program at the College’s new extension center in the Bronx. The Coordinator will work with the Dean and other members to maintain a high level of visibility and to actively engage internal and external constituents. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in the Human Services curriculum; primarily taught in the Bronx. He or she will engage in continuing research activity and scholarship; and have experience and an interest in teaching a culturally diverse student population in an urban environment. Candidates should also have knowledge in distance learning educational models, adult learning styles, and technology-assisted instruction. In addition, the faculty member will support academic initiatives and serve as a liaison for the program internally and externally, as well as serve on college committees.

Coordinator, Learning Enhancement Center & Mentor and Leadership Development Program
Metropolitan College of New York seeks an experienced individual to take the lead on identifying strategies, planning, and managing the day to day operations of MCNY’s Learning Enhancement Center (LEC), and the Mentor and Leadership Development Program (MLDP). The Coordinator will be responsible for continuing a systematic, ongoing needs assessment for writing and math services, and for ensuring the provision of educational transition support to students.

Requirements: Major responsibilities include managing the academic aspects of the LEC’s and MLDP’s daily operations, facilitating pedagogy discussions, coordinating staff and mentor training, professional development, supervision and evaluation of math and writing specialists related to teaching and learning matters, and overseeing the targeted outreach to students in need of academic assistance. Director of Library Services
MCNY seeks a Director to provide innovative administrative leadership for its library and resource learning center. The Director will work closely with the President, Deans, and faculty to support student learning and faculty development. Major responsibilities include planning and managing all aspects of the library. This includes budget management, staff supervision, operations assessment, and management of the library facilities, computer systems and other equipment. The Director will also oversee the development and management of print collections and database resources; create and interpret library and learning center policies; and play an active role in strategic planning and accreditation. The Director will foster the maintenance and accessibility materials and resources in all formats, and ensure that hardware and up to date software for the computer resource labs are available and well-maintained.

Director of the Bronx Extension Center
MCNY seeks an experienced administrator to provide leadership for a broad range of strategic and operational goals for its Bronx extension center.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Enrollment, the Director will be responsible for providing overall operational leadership and supervision of academic and administrative and services consistent with the College’s strategic goals and objectives; supervising site-based employees, and coordinating work schedules to ensure adequate and appropriate levels of student services; working with the Executive Vice President for Enrollment Management to develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive annual business plan (including strategic, fiscal, marketing/student recruitment, technology, risk management and community relations components) for the site that is consistent with the College’s strategic initiatives, goals and resource allocations; serve as a liaison between the site and the main campus in administrative matters and in the communication of College-wide policies and procedures; serving on College committees and task forces; serve as the liaison and coordinating administrative needs for the site with appropriate staffing and services from the Manhattan campus (this includes admissions, registrar, financial aid, bursar, library, learning center, academic advising, student services, computing, mail services, duplicating, security and facilities).

Requirements: Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of management and supervisory experience; higher education experience including good understanding of enrollment management and academic services administration; strong analytic, strategic planning, and organizational skills; effective communication skills, sound decision making skills; a results-oriented, positive approach to problem solving; experience with budget preparation and management; proficient with Microsoft Office and knowledge of student information system required; experience working with a diverse student body; experience in extension site operations preferred.
