Career Services at MCNYFind out what we do and how we help students achieve their career goals. play video: (6:40 min) RealPlayer required to view video Produced by: Meet the Staff of Career ServicesTrang Le-Chan, Associate Director of Career Services Ms. Le-Chan had participated in postgraduate leadership training programs at the Immigrant Civic Leadership Program at CORO New York Leadership Center and also holds a certificate from the Middle Management Program for Youth Service Organizations at the Institute for Not-for-Profit Management at Columbia University Business School for Executive Education. Her other post graduate work also includes the Mentoring Supervisor Certificate Program at Fordham University School of Social Services, which is a partnership with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. She is SIFI certified and have served as a Field Instructor to provide education and development to graduate social work students from Columbia University, Fordham University and Hunter College since 2006. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Binghamton University and a Master of Social Work, with a concentration in Administration and Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Le-Chan is passionate about bridging the link between College and the professional world through the development of academic and career oriented programs that are designed to both educate and empower students. She believes that all students have the potential to succeed if given adequate opportunity and support. She is excited to join MCNY‘s community and looks forward to contributing to the Office of Career Services. Angel Ortiz, Coordinator of Career Services Mr. Ortiz's main goal and passion is to ensure that students are prepared for the world of work and, have developed the necessary job hunting tools and strategies to help them bridge that world. Similarly, he helps and facilitates career planning for students by helping them to conduct self-assessment activities, skills identification, values clarification, career and educational goal setting, and effective job searching strategies and techniques. Most recently, Mr. Ortiz worked at LaGuardia Community College as an Academic Advisor and Coordinator for the Allied Health/Math and Science Academy. At LaGuardia, he successfully coordinated and implemented a variety of career advising activities aimed at retention and academic development. Mr. Ortiz graduated from Fordham University with a Master of Science degree in education and human resources development. His undergraduate work was at Lehman College where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education and History and early in his career he served as a teacher with the NYC Board of Education. |
